New to the Church?

Our services reflect the diverse traditions of the Church of England, ensuring there’s something for everyone:

  • Traditional Service: Every Sunday at 9:00 AM, we hold a more formal service at one of our churches.
  • Family Communion: Held at 10:30 AM each Sunday, this is a less formal service where families and children are especially welcome. We love the energy children bring, even if they’re a little noisy or running around—God gave them that energy, and His house is a place to celebrate it!
  • Evening Services: Sunday evenings offer a variety of worship experiences, including the lively Joyful Journey, the meditative Taizé, and the reflective Evensong. Check out our What’s On page to see the schedule for these services.

Whether you’re seeking tradition, community, or quiet reflection, we’d love to have you join us.

Our benefice is home to five churches, all working together as one united worshipping community. Below, you’ll find the locations, along with their postcodes and handy What3Words references to make them easy to find:

  • Etton: PE6 7DA ///confining.stones.retrial
  • Maxey: PE6 9HF ///dampen.corrode.prettiest
  • Glinton: PE6 7JN ///behave.zaps.tribune
  • Peakirk: PE6 7NH ///engulfing.ruins.executive
  • Northborough: PE6 9BN ///comic.play.cools

When you arrive, a friendly member of the congregation will welcome you at the door and happily guide you to where you need to go. We hope you feel warmly greeted and at ease. Our services typically follow a printed booklet and include:

  • Singing hymns
  • Bible reading(s)
  • Prayers
  • A sermon (around 10 minutes) that connects Biblical teachings to everyday life

For Communion services, most attendees will have the opportunity to receive Bread and Wine, though participation is entirely optional. Feel free to sit anywhere—there are no reserved seats.

After some services, you’re warmly invited to stay for a cup of tea, coffee, or a cold drink. It’s a great chance to meet others and have a friendly chat.

While there is a collection plate available, there’s no obligation to give. If you’d like to contribute, we’re grateful, but many choose to give online instead.

  • Glinton Church has a toilet inside.
  • Maxey Church has an outside toilet.
  • Unfortunately, our other churches don’t have toilet facilities yet.

Being a Christian is a journey of faith, fellowship, and relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life so that we might live. None of us have all the answers to the mysteries of faith, but being part of the church provides structure, support, and guidance for our imperfect and sometimes wobbly lives.

We hope this gives you a sense of what our church is like. We’d love to see you at a service! If you’re still feeling unsure, please contact us—we’d be happy to arrange for someone to meet you and show you around.

How cool is it that the same God who created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you, too.

If you have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to reach out to Rev. Keir – he’d be delighted to hear from you!
