Bible Explorers

Are you curious about the Bible, but not quite sure where to start? Perhaps you’ve opened it before and found it confusing, intimidating, or even a little overwhelming. Or maybe you’ve always wanted to explore faith more deeply but haven’t felt confident enough to join a group. If any of that sounds familiar, our Online Bible Explorers session could be just what you’re looking for.

Online Bible Explorers – Tuesdays at 7pm (Term Time)

Every Tuesday during term time at 7pm, we meet online via Microsoft Teams for a relaxed, friendly, and open Bible exploration group. It’s an informal space where questions are encouraged, no prior knowledge is assumed, and everyone is welcome.

This group originally began with those who were confirmed last September, as a way of continuing their journey of faith and helping them begin to read and understand the Bible for themselves. Over time, it became clear that this was something many others might value too. We all start somewhere, and most people—whatever their background—find exploring the Bible challenging at first. So the group is now open to anyone who would like to begin reading the Bible, or return to it with fresh eyes.

At the moment, we are exploring Mark’s Gospel together. Mark’s account of Jesus’ life is fast-paced, honest, and full of big questions about who Jesus is and what it means to follow him. We read short passages, talk about what we notice, share what we find puzzling or inspiring, and reflect on how it connects (or doesn’t!) with everyday life. There are no “right” answers expected, and no pressure to speak if you’d rather just listen.

One of the joys of this group is discovering that you are not alone. Many people struggle with faith, with Scripture, and with making sense of Jesus’ life and teaching. This is a non-judgemental space, where doubts are welcome, curiosity is celebrated, and learning happens together. Whether you feel confident, unsure, sceptical, or simply interested, you will be met with warmth and respect.

There is no commitment required. You don’t have to attend every week, prepare anything in advance, or feel awkward if you miss a session or two. Just come when you can, for as long as it’s helpful to you.

If you’d like to join us, or simply want more information, please contact Rev Keir to receive the Teams link. We would love to welcome you as you explore the joys and challenges of discovering the Bible—and learning more about Jesus—together with others on the journey.

“It is Christ Himself, not the Bible, who is the true Word of God. The Bible, read in the right spirit and with the guidance of good teachers will bring us to Him… We must not use the Bible (our ancestors too often did) as a sort of Encyclopedia out of which texts (isolated from their context and read without attention to the whole nature and purport of the books in which they occur) can be taken for use as weapons.”
